Breathtaking views matched with carefully thought out interior details make this modern farmhouse a dream! Nestled amongst the evergreen trees and one of Mercer Island’s quiet suburban neighborhoods is this 4,000+ square foot residence to a family of five. It was the first time Kimberlee Marie Interior Design dabbled with the modern farmhouse style (hello shiplap!) and it sure was fun!
The client wanted to make sure to incorporate some salvaged wood from the original home on the property which you can see is used for the fireplace mantle, reclaimed wood feature wall off the entryway, and back of the breakfast nook. Blending different elements such as painted shiplap and oxidized metal, paired with black windows and doors, highlighted areas of the home that would otherwise go unnoticed. Marble countertops for the bathrooms and kitchen introduce an elevated, classic feel to the home making it feel luxurious. Warmer paint colors keep the home feeling cozy despite it’s large size.
It’s always rewarding being able to help bring our clients vision of their dream home into reality. And it’s also exciting to get to document the finished product and share with all of you! So without further ado, check out the Mercer Island Modern Farmhouse:
